Feasibility 2021

Client: Rathcroghan Centre / Cruachan Ái
Team: Steve Larkin Architects / Helena Fitzgerald (Consultant Architect) / Paula Barrett (Artist)
SLA Team: (Steve Larkin & Deepka Abbi)
Visualisations and Drone Footage: Magnaparte

Rathcroghan (Ráth Crúachan) is a well-preserved prehistoric and medieval archaeological landscape located in County Roscommon. It is on the DEHLG tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Status as one of the six Royal Sites of Ireland and in recognition of its national and international significance and of its contribution to the ‘collective memory of humanity’.

SLA collaborated with Helena Fitzgerald (architect) and Paula Barrett (artist) to examine how the Rathcroghan landscape, community, services and trails might be foregrounded through innovative trails, driving infrastructure, rural furniture, fixtures and colour schemes.
